With offices being shut and not much work to do because of lockdown, I was quite bored in my home. To kill the boredom I switched to television but the typical melodramatic saas-bahu serials were definitely not my cup of tea and as shooting is also affected due to ongoing lockdown, I was not getting the much-needed dose of entertainment in my life.

Story Line Of Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala

Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala is a light-hearted slice of life drama kinda web series, starring two of my favourite cine actors, Divyanka Tripathi and Rajeev Khandelwal. The story revolves around two hotel management students, Nitya (Divyanka Tripathi) and Vikram (Rajeev Khandelwal), the protagonists of the series. Both of them were enjoying their college life and eventually they both fall in love with each other and after some time they get married. But relationships are not as easy as they seem to be.

The Twist –

A Pain That Stems From Past
But as it is said that relationships are difficult and sometimes, even with the best of relationships, roadblocks are encountered. Same happened in Nitya and Vikram’s sweet love story too.

A misunderstanding leads the couple to part ways and consequently, the couple had a divorce. But after so many years, once again they have to face each other due to professional work. Nitya, who is a single mother to a cherubic eight-year-old called Vivaan (Vidhaan Sharma), runs Indie Spice, a fine dine restaurant she has built from scratch along with friend and business partner Revti (Maninee Mishra).

Nitya’s cosy world is turned upside down when her ex-husband, Vikram, a celebrated, world-renowned chef with two Michelin stars under his belt, has taken over her financially-unviable where she works at as the head chef.

Performance Of The Protagonists

The performances in the web series have already been raved about. The emotional intensity in Rajeev Khandelwal’s acting, helps viewers to instantly connect with the character of Vikram.

Let it be the portrayal of Bhojpuri immature young husband or a renowned Michelin Star Chef, Rajeev makes the transition quite believable, thanks to his amazing acting skills. Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya too has nailed it too. Viewers are sure to empathize with Nitya, thanks to the way Divyanka has portrayed her character that is quite relatable and understandable, both emotionally and psychologically.

The way she portrays a range of emotions is reflected in every frame. The sweet and spicy romance of both actors – Rajeev Khandelwal and Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya, is the highlight of the show. The other supporting cast, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Manini Mishra and others have done a decent job.
