The season of monsoon makes everyone happy as it brings relief from the hot summer climate, but this time the monsoon season is creating a havoc in The God’s own Country – Kerala. The state is reeling under, the worst floods in 50 years that has paralyzed normal life of millions of people of the state.

The unstoppable rains in Kerala has adversely affected the people of Kerala, depriving them of the basic necessities of life. The floods of catastrophic dimensions ravaged Kerala. Nearly 25 trillion litres of water felled in 11 days continuous downpour on the state of Kerala—an area of 38,800 square kilometres cramped with mountain ranges, third highest population density in the country and 44 rivers with 61 dams—with apocalyptic fury. Never before has a flood devastated the entire state.
Affecting nearly one-sixth of the population of Kerala, the floods that submerged half of its villages and damaged properties worth Rs 19,500 crore. According to official estimates, 373 people have been killed so far, while 32 others remain missing.
Several people have to leave their house and take the shelter in the relief camps. More than 12.5 lakh people have been evacuated to more than 3,941 odd camps according to an official figure. People are unable to get the basic supplies and are living their life without proper food, water and electricity. Let it be rail, road or air, all types of means of transport has been severely affected. Aluva region of Kerala's Ernakulam district has been most severely affected.
Though Indian Navy, Army, Airforce, local people and fishermen are working diligently to rescue people from flood hit areas and sent them to rescue camps, yet it is not quite sufficient as the loss is really tremendous.
