Kya se kya ho gaya…………….dekhte dekhte!!!! Finally we are in the mid of September 2020 and the things aren’t as much easy as it seems. While the ‘Unlock’ phase is going on but watching movie in theaters with movie freak gang seems to be a distant dream. But thanks to OTT platforms like ZEE5 who are ensuring our dose of entertainment with their amazing content covering a wide range of genre.
Recently while watching my favorite show on ZEE5, I came across the trailer of ‘Tiki Taka’ and I was completely blown away with the storyline. I watched the movie on last Saturday and it was simply amazing in every aspect. So, in this post I will be reviewing the movie as well as tell you the reasons why Tiki Taka movie has a potential to win big hearts
Storyline – A perfect mix of laughs and drama to make you cry tears of joy
Kolkata wants to know – ‘Who will Khelechi play for?’. The story of the movie revolves around Khelechi Ajgubi. He belongs to a poor African town and tries to earn money for his mamma’s treatment but is trapped in the midst of a drug scandal.

While on business and for drug delivery to a PK, the mafia owning the drug chain, Khelechi meets Raju. Raju is a street-smart taxi driver, and together with Bonnie, a journalist, they set Khelechi up as a football player. Football clubs compete to sign Khelechi, and the police get involved. What follows is a #Goalmaal and a riot of hilarious episodes and the love story brewing between Bonnie and Khelechi offers a whiff of freshness to the story.
Performance of Starcast – Perfect Energy For A Fun Film
The African actor Emona Enabula (Khelechi) is the main character of the movie but the movie belongs entirely to Raju aka Parambrata Chattopadhyay who has a impeccable timing and a natural flair of comedy. We get to see the innumerable shades of his character Raju which is sure to make a way directly to your heart.
Ritabhari adds charm and beauty to the screen and plays the role of a journalist – Bonnie, who falls for the star footballer. PK aka Saswata Chatterjee has a small but pivotal role as the mafia boss and he has done a very good job.
The supporting cast includes Kanchan Mullick, Paran Bandyopadhyay, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Shantilal Mukherjee. All the the three lead characters – taxi driver-turned-rescue mastermind; the amateur footballer and the pretty journalist- have the perfect energy required for a fun film. Even the side characters, including a brilliant Saswata, add to the immense joy of watching this comedy. Another reason to watch the movie.
Direction, Execution and other aspects
Directed by and starring Parambrata Chattopadhyay is a pleasant and simplistic football comedy. Parambrata has done a commendable job and has given a perfect tribute to football and its legacy in West Bengal. The romantic and Sufi tracks in the film are soulful and apt. The dialogues are simple yet impactful and the soulful songs add to the vibrancy of the film. The film is relatable and has a humour that will make you crack up with laughter. The film is getting positive reviews and good rating as well.
