4 Tips To Remove Greasy Stains From Kitchen

Hello people! Hope you all are doing well. Besides being a blogger, you all know that I am a food lover as well. I love cooking and try experimenting with new dishes for my near and dear ones. Woh kehte hai na Kisi Ke dil ka rasta uske pet se hoke jata hai and I completely agree with this line. So, this time too I have so many delicious dishes on my mind that I am going to make for my family members on this festival of colors to tantalize their taste buds.

But being a homemaker as well, my biggest worry is to remove greasy stains from kitchen that are left behind after the preparation. The sight of the kitchen with greasy stains is a nightmare for me and cleaning the mess seems to be a daunting task. I think that most of you can relate to my situation as well. So, let me share with you 4 tips to remove greasy stains from kitchen today.

Be it a fresh oil splatter from a batch of fries or years of caked-on residue in your kitchen, it becomes important to clean the kitchen after use in order to get rid of stubborn stains which may toughen if left unnoticed. So, in this post of mine, I will be talking about some simple and effective ways to remove greasy stains from kitchen.

Cleaning periodically to save time and energy

A two-part cleaning method to remove greasy stains from kitchen is always recommended in order to save time and energy. It includes weekly and seasonal touchups. Instead of wiping down the kitchen cabinets frequently, the best way to clean kitchen cabinets is with a weekly spot treatment. Just use the cleaner to wipe away the marks and make sure to disinfect the hardware too.

Further, give your cabinets a deep clean 3-4 times per year. For doing this, make sure to empty the cabinets of all contents. Then use a microfiber cloth dabbed in a cleaner to wipe down the shelves and other surfaces. Use the toothbrush to clean the corners and other small cervices. Make sure that your surfaces and cabinets are dry before restocking.

Different cabinets require a different approach

  • For painted cabinets, make a paste with a minimum of one part water with two parts of baking soda. Dab the paste onto stains and then wipe it clean after a few minutes.
  • For wooden cabinets, use oil soaps. Make sure to always use damp, not soaked, when cleaning wooden cabinets. Use a dry microfiber cloth to buff and polish the wood.
  • For laminated cabinets, you can use baking soda paste or diluted vinegar to clean the stains. Make sure to avoid using abrasive cleaning pads.
  • For glass cabinets, use glass cleaners to remove stains of fingerprints and grease. Avoid oil-based cleaners on the adjacent cabinet material as they can leave residue and streaks on the glass.

Going natural and using a homemade cleaner with natural  ingredients

A paste of ash, lemon and vinegar make a perfect cleaner to remove greasy stains from kitchen.  Apply the mix on the stains and leave it for 2-3 minutes before wiping it off with a cotton cloth for better results.

Vinegar may not smell nice, but it works as a good cleaner to remove greasy stains from kitchen. Make a 2:1 mixture of water and vinegar and apply it on the cabinets and surfaces from which you want to remove the stains and leave it still for a few minutes. Clean it with a microfibre cloth and your stains will be gone.

For greasy stains, salt can do wonders. Sprinkle a small amount of salt over the greasy stains and let the salt soak up the grease. Otherwise, you can make a mixture of salt and rubbing alcohol in the ratio of 1:4 and rub it thoroughly on the stains. After 2-3 minutes wipe down the mess with a cotton cloth.

Further, rice water is also quite effective in removing stubborn oil stains.

All these methods can also be used to remove greasy stains from kitchen utensils as well and make them shine like new.
