COMEDY COUPLE REVIEW – A Modern Day Story Of An Urban Couple

Hola Friends!!!! Hope you all are doing well! Finally we have entered in the last quarter of the year 2020. The last 6 months have been quite tough for all of us but it’s good to see that now the things are taking their normal course and getting back to normal. But one positive thing of last six months is that couple gets a lot of personal time as there was no hurry of office and other work………Isn’t it? Well, now you all have understood that this post of mine is all about couples. In this post I will be reviewing the latest release on ZEE5 platform i.e. ‘ #ComedyCouple’, and will tell you the top reasons that make it a must watch.

Storyline – Fun and Refreshing

From a story by Bikas Ranjan Mishra and written by Raghav Raj Kakker and Kashyap Kapoor, the story of this flick revolves around Zoya and Deep, who are a live-in couple and do stand-up comedy together. Deep gave up his six figure salary to endeavor on this path of making people laugh. Zoya and Deep’s double act gets a boost-up when their manager uploads their performance online. Soon, they’re talk of the town and selling packed-out gigs. But all is not easy as it seems. Things are in disarray in their personal lives. Live-in relationships are frowned upon in India. Finding an accommodation together is not an easy task. They are kicked out of a rented apartment. Even their perfect seems to slip away. Deep’s impulse to lie everytime he faces danger complicates the things.

The script oscillates between the ups and downs of the modern relationship and makes one of the reason to watch this movie.

Performance – Brilliant Performance by Star Cast

The amazing chemistry between Deep (played by Saqib Saleem) and Zoya (played by Shweta Basu Prasad) will keep you on the edge of your seat. They have a sweet and believable vibe going. When it comes to acting prowess, Shweta is indeed a notch above Saqib, but together, they are fabulous. It’s as if they are a real couple.

While Aadar Mallik, who played the character of Saqib’s addict friend, clearly has fun with his role, Rajesh Tailang (as Saqib’s father) truly shines as the conservative UP man. Pooja Bedi (as Shweta’s mother), Jasmeet Singh Bhatia (as the broker Timmy) and other supporting cast has also done a fabulous job.

Brilliant Direction and Perfect Execution

A modern day love story of an urban couple, this Nachiket Samant directorial promises a fresh premise and remains a well meaning romantic film. Nachiket has done a brilliant job to ensure a perfect blend of romance and comedy for the audience. It’s good to see that the director try to infuse some distinctiveness and vivacity with the help of supporting characters that are true to their characters. It’s good to see that the film talks about the freedom of speech in a perfect way.

Considering the above-mentioned reasons, this film seems to be a perfect way to get your dose of entertainment. So, what are you waiting for? Grab a pack of popcorn and watch this flick on ZEE5 with #JokinglyYours partner. Do share your experience about the movie in the comments below. Till then, Bub-Bye!
